Privacy Policy

App Name: PDF Tools Pro

PDF Tools Pro is a macOS app designed to help users edit, sign, annotate, compress, convert, scan, read aloud, and print PDF documents. We respect your privacy and are committed to keeping your documents and personal information safe.

This Privacy Policy explains how PDF Tools Pro handles user data.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

PDF Tools Pro is designed as a privacy-focused document utility.

We do not collect, upload, sell, or share your PDF files, documents, images, signatures, scanned files, or converted files.

Your files are processed locally on your Mac whenever possible. This includes actions such as:

  • Opening PDF files

  • Editing PDF files

  • Adding text, images, annotations, or shapes

  • Creating and placing signatures

  • Compressing PDFs

  • Converting images to PDF

  • Exporting PDF pages as images

  • Reading PDF text aloud

  • Printing PDF files

  • Scanning or importing documents

  • Saving or exporting edited documents

We do not access your documents unless you choose to open, import, edit, convert, scan, or save them using the app.

2. Documents and Files

PDF Tools Pro allows you to select files from your Mac for editing, conversion, scanning, compression, or printing.

The files you select remain on your device. The app does not automatically upload your files to any server.

Any changes you make to your documents are saved only when you choose to save or export them.

3. Signatures

PDF Tools Pro may allow you to create, draw, type, upload, and save signatures for use in PDF documents.

Saved signatures are stored locally on your Mac for your convenience. We do not upload, transmit, sell, or share your signatures.

You may delete saved signatures from the app settings if this feature is available.

4. Recent Files

PDF Tools Pro may store a local list of recently opened files to help you quickly access your documents.

This recent files list is stored locally on your Mac. It is not sent to us or shared with third parties.

You may clear recent files from the app settings if this feature is available.

5. Scanner and Image Import

PDF Tools Pro may allow you to import images or scanned documents and convert them into PDF files.

Imported images and scanned documents are processed locally on your Mac. We do not upload or share these files.

If the app requests access to files, folders, camera, scanner, or photo-related content, that access is used only to allow you to select, import, scan, process, or save documents.

6. Read Aloud Feature

PDF Tools Pro may include a read aloud feature that converts selected PDF text into spoken audio.

The read aloud feature uses system-based text-to-speech functionality where available. PDF text is processed for playback on your device and is not collected by us.

7. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

PDF Tools Pro may offer paid features, subscriptions, or one-time purchases.

All payments and billing are handled securely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card details, billing information, or App Store account credentials.

Apple may process purchase-related information according to Apple’s own privacy policy and App Store terms.

8. Analytics and Diagnostics

PDF Tools Pro may use limited diagnostics or crash information provided by Apple to help improve app performance and fix issues.

This information does not include the contents of your PDF files, documents, signatures, scanned files, or converted files.

If any third-party analytics tools are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

9. Third-Party Services

PDF Tools Pro does not upload your documents to third-party services for normal PDF editing, signing, scanning, compression, conversion, printing, or read aloud features.

If any future feature requires an online or cloud-based service, we will clearly disclose it in the app and update this Privacy Policy.

10. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We do not share your documents, signatures, scanned files, or converted files with advertisers or external companies.

We may only disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights and users.

11. Data Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect the app experience and keep your data private.

Because PDF Tools Pro primarily processes files locally on your Mac, your files remain under your control. You are responsible for managing access to your Mac, files, backups, and exported documents.

12. Children’s Privacy

PDF Tools Pro is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age required by applicable privacy laws. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

13. Your Choices

You control your files and data inside PDF Tools Pro.

Depending on available app features, you may:

  • Choose which files to open or import

  • Save or export edited files manually

  • Delete saved signatures

  • Clear recent files

  • Manage app permissions in macOS System Settings

  • Cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect app updates, new features, legal requirements, or operational changes.

Any updates will be posted with a new effective date.
